KAUYELA Consulting, established in 2019 by Thato Makautse and Sithembiso Biyela, is dedicated to positively impacting South Africa's economy. KAUYELA required an optimised website solution to improve security and scalability but faced challenges such as:

• Limited Internal Resources: Managing a website infrastructure and ensuring compliance with security practices were difficult due to resource constraints.

BATSAMAYI developed a secure, scalable static website hosted on Amazon S3, integrated with AWS DevOps services to automate infrastructure management and improve security.

Security and DevOps Enhancements: Security:

• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): BATSAMAYI implemented AWS CloudFormation to automate infrastructure provisioning and management. All infrastructure changes are handled via IaC, which streamlined KAUYELA’s processes by ensuring consistency across environments.
• CI/CD Pipeline: AWS CodePipeline and CodeDeploy were introduced for continuous integration and delivery of infrastructure updates. This ensured quality checks at each stage—source, build, test, and production—improving deployment speed and minimising errors.
• Security Monitoring and Compliance: AWS IAM, CloudWatch, and CloudTrail were used to enforce access policies and monitor the website infrastructure. Continuous monitoring allowed KAUYELA to meet security compliance and reduced the risk of unauthorised access.

Operations Management:

• Centralised Operations with DevOps Integration: AWS Systems Manager and CloudFormation codified KAUYELA’s website infrastructure, allowing for automated deployment and monitoring. Routine tasks such as patching and updates were automated through AWS CloudWatch alarms and Systems Manager scripts, enhancing operational efficiency.
• Monitoring and Logging: BATSAMAYI implemented Amazon CloudWatch for performance monitoring, logging key metrics such as latency and response time. This allowed for proactive management of the website’s performance.

KAUYELA now has a secure, scalable website that fully integrates with their ITSM processes and benefits from continuous delivery and infrastructure automation. DevOps best practices enhanced operational efficiency, improved security, and minimised manual intervention. These improvements resulted in:
